My research lies at the intersection of Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition. Specifically, my work is mainly focused on robust fitting for 3D model acquisition from images. Here a short biosketch.

Feb 21, 2026 Our work (with Cristina Turrini, Marina Bertolini, Rakshith Madhavan, and Federica Arrigoni) on critical configurations for stereo uncalibrated 3D reconstruction has been accepted to CVPR 2026. (I originally started studying critical loci in 2011 for my MSc thesis, it has been a 15-year journey!)
Jan 9, 2026 Our work LCF3D: A Robust and Real-Time Late-Cascade Fusion Framework for 3D Object Detection in Autonomous Driving has been published at Pattern Recognition.
Sep 2, 2025 Our work “Preference Isolation Forest for Structure-based Anomaly Detection” as been accepted at Pattern Recognition.
Oct 1, 2024 We are at ECCV2024 with:
  • TradiCV workshop
  • Inside Plato’s Door tutorial
  • 2X workshop papers: temporal CAMs for waste sorting, a cascaded-late fusion method for Autonomous Driving
  • 1 conference paper on wide-angle camera calibration.
Jul 12, 2024 “Ensemble Clustering via Synchronized Relabelling” has been published to Pattern Recognition Letters.
Jun 21, 2024 Minimal perspective autoclaibration presented at CVPR 2024. Have a look at the poster to dig into a taxonomy of autocalibration problems.
Jun 9, 2024 Our work “Revisiting Calibration of Wide-Angle Radially Symmetric Cameras” has been accepted at ECCV 2024.

Sep 13, 2023 “Hashing for Structure-Based Anomaly Detection” with Filippo Leveni, Cesare Alippi and Giacomo Boracchi won the ICIAP best paper award.
Jul 30, 2023 “GEOPRIDE: geometric primitive fitting and decomposition for 3D shapes representation” in collaboration with Simone Melzi has been sponsored by the PRIN 2022 grant.
